Valentines Dinner at Red Robin

My husband and I try to go to different places to eat when we get the chance.I am so picky it is hard for me to find anything at some places. We usually end up taking turns selecting where to go,or going somewhere neither of us has ever been.

A few days before Valentines Day,we saw a commercial for Red Robin.I know it probably sounds strange, but we had never been there before.I had heard great things, but we just never ended up there. When he saw the commercial, the husband suggested going there for Valentines Day and we agreed to do just that.

We started with the cheeseburger queso dip. This is served hot with colored tortillas and hand fried ones as well.I am not sure what I expected, but I was amazed by how good this was.The flavor was rich and the mix of ingredients was perfect. It might be a little heavy on the seasoning, but that is what makes it so good.We didn't finish it all and ended up bringing the rest home with us.It lasted until the next day when the husband finished it off.

Brad chose to go with the prime rib sandwich with Au Jus,fries and coleslaw.I always steal a bite of his since my meals choices never seem to come with it, and I always forget to order some, until I see his.

I went with the Patty Melt. The bread was toasted perfectly with just enough butter,I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this twisted versions of a Reuben. The caramelized onion in place of the sauerkraut was delicious over the beef patty and swiss cheese. They served it with a side of thousand island dressing for the fries..yum!

One thing I did find funny. While we were eating I was taking these photos for the blog. The next thing I know, the manager comes over and tells us that because we had to wait so long (about an hour) on our meal,he had taken care of the whole bill.We didn't even notice we had been there that long and tried to tell him it was fine, but he insisted.I don't know if it had anything to do with taking photos or not,but just in case,I will take pics every time we go out from now on!

Loving My New Shirts

I hate buying clothes.Well I don't really hate buying them, but I hate shopping for them.I am a bargain shopper and always try to find the best deals on everything I can. This helps me save money, but it takes way more time than just doing the grab and go method.UGH!

I did find some new shirts for me this week.I am a relaxing kind of girl,so most days it is slacks, lounge wear or some type of slip-on pants and a tee.I bought these three from a seller on eBay.All were new and with shipping and everything they cost me $48 total for the three. This is a little more than I like to pay for something to lounge around in,but I loved them so much,I just couldn't pass it up.

Pinhead is my man..

and who doesn't love Hannibal right?

Find it With Become

With summer approaching fast, there are so many things on my to do list.It seems like there is never enough time to get it all done. One of my biggest time consumers is shopping. With the warm weather comes the need for many new items and the time to replace some others.I can spend hours searching for the "perfect something" and half the time,I never find it.

Have you ever typed in something like "when will tiffany type lamps be for sale? " or dragonfly stained glass lamp and gotten results for everything else? I always seems to get everything but what I wanted,or a ton of results I have to filter through.Using a site like Become.com,you can get the results you intended with comparison shopping too and not have to filter through all the nonsense.

With Become, simply type in what you are looking for and you will get quality results from a variety of retailers and with photos. This allows you to skip over the ones that don't fit without having to click on each page or link.If you are looking for a great way to cook fast and with little cleanup,a simple search for refurbished electric countertop griddle will get you instant results and let you compare prices between stores.

Using  Become.com can save you both time and money while shopping for discounts and low prices.Eliminate wasted time, unwanted sites and useless information, and still find what you are looking for.

The Mombo Pillow Lends A Hand

As you know my sister had my nephew a few weeks ago.He is getting so big and I love him so very much.I love having my nieces and nephews over for visits,so when I was given the chance to review the mombo,I was excited.I knew I would be having the little man here to as soon as his momma got over the initial "first days".

When I showed her the pillow she was thrilled. This was something she had been wanting anyway,so the timing was perfect. She liked that it vibrated quietly and was soft and comfortable feeling for little Robbie. The first time he used it,he promptly fell asleep.

This must be super comfortable for him,he is sleeping away without a care in the world. She has also used the pillow to feed him and to hold him so she can have a free hand for answering the phone, grabbing a bite or managing my niece.

The mombo is perfect for helping siblings participate in feeding or holding baby too.
My favorite way of using it is to just let him hang out.He gets a new view of the world,a soft, comfy place to lay and I get to see his handsome face. This has turned into a favorite baby item and is used daily for one reason or another.

The mombo is available at Babies R Us for and is available in a variety of pillow and slipcover combinations. This would make a great baby shower gift too,and it is something every new parent can use.

Camel Back Displays for Trade Shows and More

Spring is coming, and with it will be many more things to do.I am not a cold weather person at all.I enjoy going to things like flea markets, craft fairs and yard sales. You don't find many of those things during the cold weather months here in Ohio unless they are indoors.

I have always wondered where the display booths came from.If you have been to a job fair or convention,I am sure you have noticed some of the backdrops and stands being used. The last time I went to one,I remember thinking how annoying it must be to have to lug all that around with you and set it up each time.I had no idea you could get pop up displays that assemble in minutes.

Using a trade show pop up allows you to transport your booth or display with ease. The pieces for the backdrop are stored inside the case.Simply open the lid, remove the parts, close the lid and add a plastic or wood top for a ready to go podium or checkout stand. The pop up frame piece opens like an accordion in seconds and allows you to hang the fabric or graphic panels on the frame. When you finish, just break down the parts, slip them back into the case and you are ready to go.The case can even be customized with fabric or graphics to match.Use graphic ready options and attach items with Velcro,or take advantage of the shelving or monitor options.

There are a large selection of options and styles of pop up booths available. You can select a custom designed booth with your name or logo on the backdrop and case if you choose. This is a nice way to promote your brand and grab attention. If you are really looking to impress, you could go with the 3D,which are the easiest to set up,or back lit options for maximum effect.Using special lights, panels and a transparency screen gives you a world of options Adding a bubble kit which allows back lit graphics to extend outward gives a whole different effect.

. The possibilities are endless.Depending on your time, space and requirements, there is an option to fit.The next time you have a need for pop up trade show displays,I would consider all the options available.Selecting the right display for your product is essential in grabbing the attention and projecting the image you desire.

Valentines with Pillsbury Giveaway

Valentines Day is almost here.If you are like me,you still don't know what you are getting,or giving for that matter.I know I will make my husband a special treat of some sort, just to say I love you.I usually try to find something new and different to make for the kids and then something special for him too.

This year I was able to try the Pillsbury Valentine Holiday Shaped Cookies.I was sent a coupon for a free package of cookies along with the rest of my Pillsbury prize pack from My Blog Spark. The cookies come in a variety of designs including Disney Princess,Mickey Mouse and other assorted Valentines styles, but we chose the Princess ones for my daughter.

These cookies are ready to bake, which is great for a quick dessert or snack.I set the oven to heat while my daughter transferred the cookies from the package to the trays.By the time the oven was ready, she was finished and I put them in to bake.I watch my cookies, because they always seem to finish early and this time was no different,Within minutes we had a batch of fresh baked cookies to try.I was able to use my new oven mitt, cookie spatula and cookie jar too.I like the seal on the jar.It keep the cookies fresh without making it difficult to open. The spatula is very nice for removing cookies from the baking sheet and didn't scratch my pans either.I was highly pleased with these,as I usually am with all Pillsbury products I have tried.

Thanks to Pillsbury and My Blog Spark, one of you will get the same prize package I received.

The Black Shard Book Review

Not too long ago,I wrote a review of  The Magic Warble . If you missed it,the Magic Warble is about a girl named Kristina and her journey to another land called Bernovem. While there, she meets dwarfs and fairies, talking creatures and a prince named Werrian.Kristina must help save the land from the evil queen while dealing with traitors, traps and problems along the way.I loved the book and am pleased to be able to tell you about the sequel.

The Black Shard begins with our favorite heroin Kristina spending her summer at  horse camp.If that's not bad enough, she has to spend it with Hester and Davina, the girls she was trapped in Bernovem with before and goes to school with in her normal life. When one of the girls pulls a prank gone wrong, the girls end up back in the magical land once again.Soon after arriving,Kristina is reunited with Werrian who asks her to travel with him on his ship to Tezerel, the land where he is from.

Being so excited to see Werrian again, and happy to be in the enchanted land ,Kristina agrees to go.Little does she know she is going on a trip that will take everything she has to survive with her sanity and her life.Along the way,she will meet new characters, and encounter some old friends too. Will Kristina discover the secrets that surround her? Will the evil that lurks be victorious?

I don't want to spoil the story for you,so I won't tell you the rest.I will say, this was another great story from Victoria Simcox. One thing I really like about these books is the language. There is nothing inappropriate or questionable in the books, which makes them great for kids. The story lines are interesting and keep the reader involved. My boys are 8 and 10 and they both read and loved this book. They are already asking if another one is coming out soon. I think it took them about 3 days to finish this by reading after school each day.

School Fundraising PIsses Me Off

I swear,it never ends. The crazy ways companies come up with to market themselves to you.My kids came home from school the other day, each with a fundraising "kit".I say kit very loosely because basically they sent home a booklet of cards and a letter. They were asking us to fill out one of these address cards for at least 7 friends and family members. The cards would then be mailed to the people on them, asking them to buy magazines to support the school. You couldn't mail more than one card to any address,no matter who lived there. The cards had to be returned the next day.You have to fill in name, address,to,from and what you are doing on each card, and if you have two children in the same school, like I do,you get to fill out two of these lovely booklets. All so the kids can earn a Webkinz

Here I am knowing I don't want to fill out these things.I don't know a single person who needs more magazines. My boys have been the top fundraising sellers of their school the past 2 years, since they entered public school. This is the second fundraiser so far this school year and...I don't even like Webkinz.

So today,my hand hurts from filling out 14 damn cards, the boys misbehaved after school.Nobody asked mom if she wanted magazines and here I am..with nothing, while the boys each "earned" a Webkinz. How the hell does that work?

Ipad

Guest written by our friend Sergio Chaney..

I just saw caught the end of a commercial for direct tv ipad! I don’t know much about it what they were saying, but I’ve got to check in to that. My wife and I were just talking about ways to cut corners on the budget, and if I could watch my football games on my ipad, then we could completely do away with our TV! We have a huge, expensive television, that I only even use during football season to watch the games. The rest of the year, it literally sits there collecting dust. We could sell that bad boy, and use that money to pay off some of our debt. I’m not going to mention all this to my wife, yet, though. I gotta make sure my ipad is compatible with that first, but man! That would be great. I tell you what, technology is just insane. The idea that I could watch my games, check my email, pay my bills, and store my pictures all on one tiny little pad is just unbelievable!

Valentines Adult Gift Guide-Strawberry Kiss

Valentines Day is approaching fast.Have you decided what gift you want this year? I never really know what I want for holidays.I have things I like or want to try,but when someone asks me what I want,I never know which to choose.I usually end up just saying whatever they want to get is fine. This year,I decided to be different and make a list of my top 10.This way, when someone asks,I can go down the list and pick one that is suitable.

If you don't have a list, need something to add to yours,or are looking for that perfect Valentines gift,I have a few adult ideas for you from  Good Vibes. Valentines Day is all about love, and they have some great ways to spread it.Like these..

The Strawberry Kiss is perfect for clitoral stimulation. The flexible, curved tip makes this amazing for hitting that perfect spot.I was impressed with how soft it is and how nice it feels. The tip flexes to achieve the perfect angle and can bu turned for a whole different feel. The one-push vibration makes it easy to stop and start, and no messing with knobs or settings.

This comes in a cute clear box and includes replaceable batteries good for 80 hours. The pretty pink color makes it perfect for a Valentines Gift for that special someone in your life.Ladies, drop a hint that this wouldn't be a bad gift..and it can be used together for maximum fun.I have been known to tape a picture to the mirror or text my husband a link or photo to something I want.If I leave it up to him I will probably want to return it...and I will..and he will get upset. So I avoid the drama and just tell him what I like.

A perfect idea for a sexy Valentines Day Gifts is the Key to my Heart Case. This pink heart shaped case is lined in faux-fur and studded with rhinestones and is perfect for keeping your treasures secure.Toss in a favorite toy and accessories for easy travel and style too. It's a heart,it's pink,it holds my toys..perfect!
