Our #DisneySide Party

There are some things that just never change, and being a Disney fan is one of them. Disney has been a staple in my life since childhood, and is a love that I could pass down to my children. They have grown up watching some of the movies I watched as a child, and now they have their own hits to watch too. When we had the chance to host a #DisneySide party, we knew it was a perfect fit.

We grabbed a bunch of fun items to use as prizes including puzzles, activity books, washcloths, water bottles and a ton more. My daughter and I even made some cute wands for the girls to practice being princesses.

We tried to stick with the Disney theme as much as we could for the food. We made 2 kinds of cupcakes, each one stuffed with a delicious cake ball,  and topped with Oreo's for cute Mickey Mouse heads.

As part of the #DisneySide party pack , we were sent Mickey Mouse plates, cups, tablecloth and napkins. We grabbed some Disney fruit snacks and other goodies too.

With so many little hands, I wanted to avoid touching food as much as possible, so we used toothpicks inserted into Mickey head shaped cheese, carrots, apples and celery for snacks.

I made some character sandwiches too. We had peanut butter and jelly in three flavors and peanut butter and honey too. These were made into Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore and Piglet shapes using cookie cutters. We also made star shaped tuna sandwiches for those who don't like pb&j.

The kids loved the Disney Winnie the Pooh honey we used so much, one of them asked to take some home.

Doritos, cookies and other foods completed the food.

The kids had a blast making #RunDisney posters for their favorite sports figures.

I made a poster board craft so they could play "Pin the Eye on Mike"

I also had balloons with prize numbers in them and the kids had a balloon bust. Each time they busted a balloon with the darts, they won a prize. We did this outside to avoid any broken objects from the darts.

They all made their own Disney shirts too. This was one of the favorite parts and included such a variety of characters.

All in all it was a fun day. The kids all got to go home with several prizes and treats, and everyone had a blast. The only thing I would have done differently was to make the party longer. Parents were showing up and guests were leaving while we still had games to play. It was such a busy time, 4 hours wasn't enough time to enjoy it all!

Have You Tried Durex RealFeel Condoms?

I have been married for over 6 years and have my tubes tied, so I don't normally have a big use for condoms. That said, even though I don't use them all the time, I do use them from time to time. We try to keep it interesting, and using a condom can add a little flair sometimes. When I saw the chance to try the Durex RealFeel Non -Latex condoms through Crowdtap, I thought we would give them a try.

I noticed the feel of these as soon as I opened it. The condom felt soft and sort of silky feeling. My husband had no issues getting it on, and I thought it felt great once he was fully sheathed. I noticed the feel of these when using them too. For me, it was a soft and silky pleasure, with no issues at all. My husband did not seem as fond of it as I was, however, and took it off after 10 minutes or so. He didn't have any specific outright complaints, but he wasn't raving about it either.

Personally, I would use these again. I liked that they feel soft instead of rubbery, and they are easy to slide on without a lot of stretching or breaking. I enjoyed the sensation and would buy these if I were in need of them. I would suggest giving them a try and seeing how they work for you!

*I was provided with sample items to assist in my review. No other compensation was received and all opinions are my own.

DAYBOX Weekly Pill Organizer

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I have so any medications to take every day, I finally had to try a pill organizer. I kept forgetting doses, or not knowing if I had taken one dose or another. While that might not be a big deal for some medicines, with things like the blood pressure pills I take, forgetting can be a big issue. When I was sent the DAYBOX by Sabi to review, I hoped it would help me keep better track of my prescription doses.

The first thing I noticed when I received it was the bold printed abbreviations along the front of each days box. This makes it easy to keep track of each days usage and coordinates with the snug-fitting pee;-back rubber lids that feature sun and moon designs to signify morning, day and evening doses.

Inside each box offers plenty of room for all of your medications too. I put up to 5 different pills in each box and had room for twice that many. This was a comfort knowing I wouldn't have anything that didn't fit, so no preventing easy tracking.

The 8 interlocking compartments can be taken apart too. Yes, I said 8. There are 7 daily compartments and an extra one I use for travel or weekly doses. This is perfect for storing in a purse or glove compartment, or just to make transporting easy. I like this for diaper bags too. If baby is sick you can store their doses for babysitters or child care providers, making sure they get the right medicines when they need them.

My Latest Surgery

I had me newest foot surgery about 2 weeks ago. So far it hasn't been to bad and I am trying to follow all the rules to help it heal better. This means no walking at all, and basically not getting out of bed except to use the restroom or take a shower.

A few days after surgery, my foot was swollen so bad it was going numb in the wrappings. I called the doctor and was told to remove the outer bandage and cut down all the cotton bandaging to relieve some of the pressure.

When I cut into it, I found blisters on my foot. My inner bandages were all gross and needed changing, so I did that, applied bandages and cream to the blisters, and wrapped it all back up.

Hopefully it all heals normally and quickly!

CRUSH Minimal Effort Pill Crusher

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Taking medications can be a big pain, especially when the patient can't or won't swallow a pill. This is often a problem for kids or pets who just can't handle those big pills. In cases like this, you know it has to be done, and want it to be as easy as possible.

The CRUSH minimal Effort Pill Crusher allows you to  solve the big ill issue in a flash. All I had to do was place the pill in the crush chamber, put on the top and twist. I was expecting to need to do multiple twists to make it work, and was surprised when it stopped after less than a turn. I removed the lid to find the pill nicely crushed. The results were perfect for adding to juice or pet food to make taking medications a snap.

My favorite part of this crusher is that it features a pill holder in the top. I was able to keep the pills I needed right there inside of it. All I had to do was peel off the lid for access in seconds. This is great for on the go needs or to save on space where you keep your crusher. It makes keeping track easier too. If you need 3 a day, put that many in the top each day, and you will always know if you missed a dose.

This lightweight, BPA free crusher retails for $9.99

Tips to Help You Transition to a New City

Moving to a new location can be intimidating and scary. In addition to learning your way around the city, you have to also learn the ins and outs of each neighborhood to figure out which are the safest to live in. This can be quite a challenge if you aren’t familiar with the city. In order to find the best spot to live, it is helpful to drive around and familiarize yourself with the area before your actual move date so you can get a feel for what will work best for you.

The process of moving-- from start to finish-- can be tough. To make it easier, keep these simple tips in mind to make the move and experience a smooth, easy, and valuable one.

Where will you live? Figuring out the best neighborhoods to live in takes more than an internet search and phone call. You want to physically see the areas and places you are considering so that you can get a real opinion. If you find a place you like, look around the area to make sure that the neighborhood is safe enough and that you will be comfortable.
Make yourself feel secure. Because you are unfamiliar with your surroundings, it is a good idea to make sure that your new place is safe and secure. Set up a good alarm system and get a hold of your local provider to set up a response system (for example, in Houston, you would want to find  Houston adt to setup an alarm system).
Scope out a routine. Know where certain places are before you move. Locate your work, your house, the store, the post office, gym, or anything that you know you will be on a regular basis. Once you establish the basic necessities, you will have a better time getting out exploring and learning the different spots in the city.
Put yourself out there. As uncomfortable as it might be, you cannot be afraid to go out and leave your comfort zone. Making the effort to introduce yourself to someone new or to ask questions about the city will go a long way. It will seem uncomfortable at first, but the more you put yourself out there, the quicker you will grow into your new locations.
Get involved. A great way to meet people after you are all settled in is to join different groups and get involved in your community. The more you can participate in and involve yourself in, the quicker you can fit in and make new friends.

As you make the move from one place to another, there will be challenges and obstacles to overcome. It is never an easy transition to remove yourself from something comfortable and “known.” In times of uncertainty, it is easy to run and hide to avoid discomfort, but doing that will never allow you to acclimate yourself to a new city and meet new people. In order to make the transition as smooth as possible, take it all one step at a time and be cautious of anything that might put you in danger. When all is said and done, you have the chance to make a new start and the potential for some great opportunities.
