My Custom Canvas From CanvasHQ and Giveaway!

I have told you all before how much I love custom pieces. From photos to clothing, I just think a self designed item is much more appealing than a stock one. Recently, I was given an opportunity to review a custom canvas made from one of my own photos thanks to the wonderful people at CanvasHQ. I was excited to see how the finished project looked so I got started on it right away.

.

The process of creating your one of a kind piece is simple. You simply select the photo you want to use and upload it to the site or import it from Facebook. Next you choose the size canvas you want to make and select from portrait, square and landscape options. They have sizes available from 6 to 96 inches, allowing you to create the perfect piece for your needs. You then select border, frame, finish and effects for your finished look. You can choose to have a proof emailed to you or approve the canvas as is. All you have left to do is review the order and submit payment and you are done.

I chose to use one of my favorite photos of my daughter standing by the pond. I just love how classic this photo looks, even if she is facing the other way. She was feeding the swans and I just couldn't resist snapping this picture. It looks even better on canvas than the original does.

My canvas arrived nicely packaged and clearly marked fragile. It was wrapped in plastic inside the package too for extra protection. Shipping was quick and the canvas even comes complete with hanger attached. How great is that!

Thanks to my fabulous sponsors, one of you can win your own custom canvas! Enter below to win...

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

My #TLCVOXBOX from Influenster

I am a member of Influenster and recently received a TLCVOXBOX full of fun new products to try.

The first item I sampled was Neo to Go by Neosporin. This easy to use spray makes taking care of cuts and scrapes with ease. You simply point and spray for a quick dose of the trusted Neosporin medicine. This is perfect for on the go or when you need to treat a wound fast and easy.

I was sent a coupon for a Free container of Breyers Gelato Indulgences too. If you have not had a chance to try these, let me tell you how amazingly fantastic they really are. I chose to try the Tiramisu variety with my coupon and it was fabulous. The swirls of flavor and toppings add a delicious touch to the gelato that is like nothing else I have ever tried. I will be trying the other flavors too!

A bar of Ivory soap was in the box as well. I am not normally a fan or bar soaps and you won't find them in my house on a regular basis. I will admit that this did provide a nice clean and didn't leave a residue feeling on the skin after use.

I received a card for the Shell Fuel Rewards Network too. I normally do not get fuel at Shell, but if you do this is a great way to earn rewards for things you already purchase.

A packet of Puffs To Go was in the box too. These super soft and absorbent tissues work wonders for sore noses and help you stay clean and clear when you have a cold. The convenient size makes them perfect for storing in a diaper bag, purse, briefcase or even in your pocket.

The last item in the box is the one I have gotten the most use from. The Avon Anew Reversalist Express Wrinkle Smoother is housed in a sliding compact for easy access. Not only does this work to smooth wrinkles, but it left my skin looking more uniform and healthy too. The compact form lets me keep this with me at all times and it even has a mirrored front for easy application.

I loved all of the items in my box and I have even purchased some of them since trying. Have you tried any of these items and if so, what did you think of them?

A Day at Magic Mountain

Last week my family and I took the day to visit Magic Mountain in Columbus Ohio. While we have been to places like this, we had never been there before, so it was a new experience for everyone.

Magic Mountain is a mixture of indoor and outdoor fun for the whole family. They feature batting cages, miniature golf, go-carts and more. Plus, there is an indoor playground and an arcade full of games. This was a big plus for us because the kids love playing those games for tickets. They will spend forever deciding what to cash them in for at the end.

After getting a look at everything outside, we then headed in to get familiar with how it worked. You could see on the board the individual prices for each attraction, or you could get a wrist band that allowed each person to do three activities. Since we were given the bands, we decided to start with a family trip on the go-carts.

The kids had a blast cruising around the track and trying to pass one another. My daughter was a bit scared at first, but by the end of the first lap, she was loving it. She wanted to go by herself but was too small, so she rode once with me and once with my husband.

We opted for a round of mini-golf next. They had two different courses but we went for the full 18 holes. They even supplied different colored balls so we each could have our own. We found the right sized clubs for everyone and set off to play.

The kids got a little bored with this about half way through. I think the course was a bit hard for them on some holes, especially when the ball dropped from level to level, through water spouts and under the waterfall. They kept losing track of their balls or landing them in the water, but all in all it was fun.

We spent awhile playing games at the arcade too. We grabbed the biggest pack of tokens they offered- 100 of them for $20. The kids go through them pretty quickly but they have a blast doing it. When they finished we went to the prize counter and cashed them in for prizes. Woo-hoo!

*I admit... I had no idea there was even one that close to me until I saw them on USFamilyGuide. I was provided with free bands so we could check out the attractions. All opinions are that of myself and my family.

Have You Checked Your Credit Lately??

For the longest time I didn't worry anything about my credit. I didn't purposely do anything to make it worse, I just didn't pay any attention to it. When I went to apply for a car last fall, I found a few things I didn't  know about my credit.

I signed up for Credit Sesame just to see how well it worked. They really don't charge a thing and they send me emails with advice and reports on credit changes. I can track my score, see available and used credit and know right away if something on my report changes.

I have been using this for about a year and I have brought my score up over 100 points in that time. The report emails remind me to visit the site and see how everything is. I wouldn't remember to do it nearly as often without them. I even get emails with offers for credit cards and loans if I were interested in that. It is the perfect way to monitor and build your credit.

Have You Visited TopHatter Auctions?

I love finding the best deals I can on anything. I am not saying I will buy the cheapest version, but I will browse and spend time getting something I really want for the best price. One of my favorite places to spend a little browsing time is at TopHatter. If you aren't familiar with them, you should be. I have purchased through them and loved the item I received. Plus it's just fun to participate in the LIVE AUCTIONS. Yes, you read that right. They run live auctions for a wide variety of items, and whatever the highest bid is wins.

I visited today and joined a dollar auction. The bids started at only a dollar with low shipping costs. I saw a beautiful set of earrings, a USB charger and several other items while I was there. I even bid on a Tree of Life necklace, but I came in too late on that one.

They have autions for jewelry, home decor, linens, electronics and more. I could spend hours jumping from auction to auction bidding on things. If only my husband wouldn't have a heart attack after!

Nature Raised Farms Chicken Moms Meet Gathering

I have been trying more and more to eat a healthy, well balanced diet. I have tried to take small steps, like cutting back on soda and minimizing sweets and junk food. I have also tried to make meals with more fresh ingredients and less canned or packaged foods. I am trying to include more protein but am not a big meat eater so that is an issue for me at times. One meat I do eat regularly is chicken. I only eat chicken breast and only if it has no fat or gristle in it. That means I have to cut off all the excess before I use or freeze the meat.

Having been offered a chance to try Nature Raised Farms chicken as part of a promotion for Moms Meet,   I decided to use it for skewers and chopped with peppers and onions to eat with veggies, rice or noodles  for my share gathering. I wanted to serve it a couple different ways and with different seasonings, just to see if the taste varied any.

I was surprised to find that this didn't have too much extra fat around it, and my waste pile was much smaller than I am used to. The meat cooked nice and evenly and came out looking delicious. I notice that natural chicken has it's own flavor. I guess it is the lack of additives that you actually taste, but I can always tell the difference. Either way it was really good both ways and I will be buying this again.

I love that this package has four individual compartments of chicken. Each section has around one pound of chicken in it, and they can be easily cut apart for storage in the freezer. I have a tough time finding chicken packaged the way I like. It is usually in bulk, which means more cutting and dividing for me. I would much rather have it come in packs like this.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the Nature Raised Farms chicken. You can always tell if something was good by the food left on the kids plates. This time they all cleaned every bite, so they must have really liked it. As for the adults, some of them are like me and can taste the natural flavor, while others said they didn't notice any difference, but would still buy this if they found it where they shopped. I think most of them were only discouraged that I had to go to Sam's to get it, until we discovered they could find it at Target and Meijer here too.

*I was supplied with a gift card to purchase the chicken from Moms Meet and Sam's Club. No other compensation was received and all opinions are my own or that of my guests.

Lovely Lashes Eyelash Curler

I have always wondered how well eyelash curlers really worked. I can see why some people would want to use one, but I have always been a bit skeptical about the results you would get from it. When I am unsure of the outcome of a new product, I am always a bit hesitant to purchase it.

When I received an offer to try the Lovely Lashes Eyelash Curler, I knew it was a great opportunity to try one. It was really a simple little gadget made of metal with rubber cushions on the edges. It curled the lashes by squeezing the handle at the bottom, which pushed the rubber edge up and over the lash.

It is a bit difficult at first to line your lash correctly with the curler. If you miss, as I did a few times, you can poke your eye or just have to start over and line it up again. Once you get the hang of it, using the lash curler takes only seconds. It seems to work best when used after applying mascara. i didn't notice much of a curl when using this alone.

I have told you about my recent experiences with Garcinia Cambogia. If you pay attention at all, I am sure you have seen or heard of this somewhere, but have you tried it yet?

Thanks to my fabulous sponsors, one of my readers will be able to try the same formula I did by winning their own bottle of this awesome supplement!!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

My Newest Garcinia Cambogia Experience

I have told you before about my mission to get back in shape after being stuck in bed for months after surgery. It has been a long road back to walking, but I still can't do much more than that.

I have used several different supplements to see if any of them achieved positive results. The most recent one I have tried is a new Garcinia Cambogia blend. Yes, I have tried this before, but a different pill from another company and different doses too. This particular version advises you to take two of the pills, three times a day for a total of 6 pills. This gives you 300mg of Potassium, 300mg of calcium and 600mg of Chromium 6000mg of Proprietary Garcinia Cambogia.

The first week I used these, I did have a drop of about 5 pounds. I wasn't doing anything differently, and ate my meals as usual but still dropped those starting pounds right away. The second week I thought I would do even better and try to eliminate sugars and processed foods while taking these. After ten days, I was surprised to see I had lost another 11 pounds. That is about a pound a day!

This is the third week and I am waiting to see how it goes. I am trying to increase activity as my foot will allow, and hope that the extra steps and movement will help me to shed even more pounds. I am sticking to the recommended dose and still trying to eat more raw foods instead of junk and packaged food. We will see how this works!!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Stuck Together by Mary Connealy

I am not normally one to read slow paced books. I like the action/adventure/romance, or whatever it is to stay interesting. I like to read a book that I just don't want to put down, or else I tend to get bored quickly. I admit, at the beginning I was not sure if this book was going to hold my interest, but in the end it did.

Stuck Together begins with life in Broken Wheel, Texas in 1868. This little cowboy town is inhabited by only a small amount of people, meaning everyone knows everyone's business. Life in a small town also means a lack of single people, so the dating pool is next to nothing. Given this, and the fact that her mission is to close down the town saloon, Tina Cahill is one lonely lady, and looking to stay that way. Living in a town with her brother, his military friends and their families, the only available men are undesirable, except her brother's friend Vince, who is very desirable, but not what she has in mind. Or so she thinks. When Vince is visited by his father, and left with a surprise sister and his addled mother, Tina finds herself tossed in the middle of everything, right with the man she most wants to avoid.

This is really a simple story to follow and the characters make you want to find out what happens next. There is a bit of mystery and drama with romance thrown in the mix. It is an easy read and I finished it in just 2 days, even taking my time.

I like that this book jumps right into the story in the first pages. You find out right away who the main characters are, and what the history behind them is. The only issue I had was trying to picture the characters in my head. They aren't described in much detail, making it difficult to get a mental image of them. With so many characters tossed at you from the beginning, a mental picture would help me keep track of them while getting into the story.

* I was sent a copy of this book for review purposes. All opinions are my own.

Label Daddy Makes Identifying Your Items A Snap

My daughter is terrible at keeping track of her stuff. It seems like every time she goes to a birthday party or sleepover, she is always leaving something behind, and I cannot tell you how many items have been left at school. Sometimes these items are found later, but many times they are not. After losing so many of her things, we decided the best way to go was to label them. Of course, that doesn't help if some kid decides to take it home with them, but it helps for the ones that are just lost or misplaced.

The wonderful people at Label Daddy sent some too cute labels to help my daughter solve her issues. She was able to select from a variety of design options, including Marvel, Disney, sports and basic themes. Because she is fascinated with Frozen, that is the design she chose to go with. They turned out really cute too!

Creating your labels is simple and quick. There are multiple items to select from including the Camp and School packs, luggage tags, photo stickers and much more in a variety of sizes and options.
You decide which label package you want, chose your theme and character/icon, and what you want them to say. It's that easy. We were able to create her sample labels in seconds.

The only issue I had was the labels are a bit too long to fit her tags. I tried and tried but could not get them to fit exact, so I had to fold them over the edges on some of her clothing. This wasn't a big deal and had no effect on how well the labels stuck, but I wanted to mention it anyway.

Although we wanted these primarily for clothing, they actually stuck quite well to other things too. She has used them on her books, nail polish bottles, backpack and a ton of other things and they have stayed put everywhere we used them.

*I was sent sample items for review purposes. No other compensation was received and all opinions are my own.

Coobie Seamless Sports Bras

I have problems finding bras that fit. I can find them to fit around my chest, but the cup size is always too small. I have tried so many different bras and none of them work when I really need support. I am always adjusting and trying to keep the "girls" from falling out all over the place. I recently accepted a review offer from the great people at Coobie, who sent me a couple of their Seamless Bra styles to see if they could help solve the issue. I was excited to find out if they might actually be what I needed!

The first thing I noticed about these bras was how silky the material feels. They are nice and smooth with a little shine to them. I loved that they were not hard to get on like some of the sports bras I have tried. I have literally found myself stuck in a new bra, desperately struggling to get the thing to slide down where it goes. I didn't have any problems getting these bras on, but as always the ladies were not cooperating. I tried and tried, but I couldn't get them to fit exactly as I wanted.

Even though the cup size was slightly too small, I was able to at least do some housework and things outside so I could see how they felt while working or doing other activities. I was impressed with how comfortable the bras really were. Not that having my breasts fall out is comfortable, but if the cups were bigger, I would buy these in a minute. They gave me great support and felt almost like I wasn't even wearing a bra. These come in two sizes and they should fit anyone with a D cup or under with no problems, and comfortably too. If you are more blessed than that like I am, these are not for you. I hope they decide to make a larger size for us hard-to-fit ladies!

A Summer Day at the Local Fair

With my husband working such odd hours now, we haven't been able to do as many family things as before. We try to squeeze them in whenever we get a chance, so we decided to take them to a local fair the other day.

My daughter is so little that she usually can't ride the big rides, but this year, she was able to ride them. She got on this ride with her brothers and did the jumping pads too.

The boys played games, trying to win something like their sister but both went home empty handed, except for the ladies shoe keychain Gage won from the arcade game.

The boys rode the carpet ride before we went to get food. A tea, pepsi, Creme de Menthe sundae and bag of cotton candy later, we were off to see what else we could do.

It was something fun to do on a long day and everyone had a good time. We didn't get to stay for fireworks this time but we did cover the whole fair several times. :)
