My Digiorno House Party

I was recently selected by House Party to host a Digiorno Pizza House Party.  I had a small gathering this Sunday and plan to have a larger one on Super Bowl Sunday.

I received a fabulous party pack to assist in my party. The pack was sent by Digiorno and House Party and contained some great items.I received a too cute football pot holder
as well as a magnet clip( which my son claimed to hold his birthday wish list) and a pizza cutter too.I was a little curious about the plastic pizza cutter, but it actually worked better then my metal one.

I also received some cute mardi gras style red bead necklaces and some cute stickers we put on the necklaces .The kids enjoyed picking which saying they wanted for the game

I saved most of this stuff for my Super Bowl Party but wanted to share this with you now.To help with spreading the Digiorno word,  they also sent me 6 coupons for a free Digiorno pizza. The prices vary by location and type of pizza I'm sure but these coupons covered the full cost here in Ohio.I also received 15 coupons for $4.00 off a pizza to share with my guests.

All this at no cost just by being a member and getting chosen! To top it off my package arrived in this  Digiorno Delivery box

I was not paid or asked to write this post.I chose to share my party package and these are my own opinions.I received the pack by applying for the party host and being chosen as one.

Reagans' Snow Adventure

My daughter Reagan loves to play, indoors, outdorrs it does not really matter.Usually she has her brothers or step brother or sister there to play with.Last week we finally got snow that stuck and she was dying to go out .Both of my boys were grounded and my step kids were with their mother so I took her out for some "Mommy and Me "time.

First she stomped around in her pink Wee Squeaks shoes and we had a snowball fight. Then she decided to make snow angels-Reagan is a huge angel fan. This was her first real attempt as before she would not want to lay in the snow.
She had a blast making them and I had so much fun watching her do it!
This is one of her finished angels that she insisted I take a picture of

It was a fun day finished off by a little sledding..well since we do not live near any hills her sledding involved mommy pushing her around and then pulling her too.She got to ride on her brothers blow up jet ski sled and boy did she loved that (although he didn't care for sharing it with her)

Mommy and her princess came in for some cookies and hot chocolate and she was ready to go again!

Leap Frog Zippity Review

Around christmas I won a Leap Frog Zippity from The Not So Blog .I thought it looked so cute and even went to check it out at the store before it arrived.I am a huge Leap Frog fan anyway and this was a great addition to our collection.

I gave this to my daughter as a "just because" present since I had already finished my christmas shopping and I had won a Swinxs that went to the older kids..review to come on that one too.

My daughter Reagan is 3 and she loves Disney characters which are the focus of the Zippity. When it arrived I opened it right away and of course I didn't have the right batteries so I had to go get some for it before Reagan had heart failure from waiting..lol..she is very impatient.Once we had everything ready we hooked it up for her.First I will say connecting the Zippity is very easy, all we had to do was plug in a couple of cables to the tv and bam! finished.

Reagan loved that she could control it herself once we told her what to do.I think it is very kid friendly and easy to use not to mention loads of fun! The Zippity came loaded with 4 character games..including Handy Manny and My friends Tigger and Pooh with 2 levels for each character. Some of the games use the pad by stepping on the color indicated and some use the joystick type part that is in the front of the pad. Both functions are very simple and fun to do.Reagan has played with this multiple times and she never gets tired of doing so.Reagans favorite is the dancing game where you pick a color and the character dances to your choices..she loves trying to immitate the twirling and spinning .

I think the Zippity is a fabulous choice because it entertains and helps with color matching, hand eye coordination and comprehension too!

Review: Tinkerbell for Nintendo DS

My daughter is a huge Tinkerbell fan, so of course she asked for it for her Nintendo DS for Christmas.
I was not sure about getting this game for her because she is only 3, but she does great playing Mario and Lego Batman so I thought  we would give it a chance.

I figured being Tinkerbell it would be a pretty easy game, but not easy enough for a toddler. The first time we played it I helped her figure out the controlling and buttons , which is usually all she needs to know.I got her started and let her go at it on her own.Let me tell you, if you do not mind having to stop what you are doing every 3 minutes, then this game might be great for your little one.I however usually let her play while I am doing schoolwork with my boys or cooking dinner etc-you know those times when you need to focus on what you are doing.

I was able to manage the game quite easily myself although I did not find it too entertaining .My 6 and 8 year old sons helped her out along the way and were able to play it as well.I think what makes this difficult for the younger ones is remembering where everything is located.

Basically you are Tink and you have to travel around fairyland talking to other fairies and finding items, repairing broken ones and returning them to their owners. This is all done by going from place to place, screen to screen and performing tasks ,with quite a bit of talking mixed in there.I had to stop once or twice and remember which land or screen had which thing in it or what needed returned to who, but basicaly it is pretty simple.I think if you were getting this for someone a bit older, it would be a great gift, but if it is for a younger child , I would chose a different option.

Amazon has some great deals on the game right now, including free shipping so if you are looking to buy it, you might want to check there.

General Mills Reduces Sugar For A Healthier You Plus Coupon Too

General Mills announced a commitment to further reduce sugar in cereals directed at kids under 12 to single digit grams of sugar per serving. General Mills  has already been reducing sugar in cereals and  increasing key nutrients, such as calcium and vitamin D, and providing whole grain.

A few benefits of regular cereal consumption are-
•Ready-to-eat cereals, including presweetened cereals, account for only 5% of sugar in children´s diets.

•Ready-to-eat cereal is the No. 1 source of whole grains in a child´s diet today.

•More frequent cereal eaters tend to have healthier body weights and lower Body Mass Index measures.

I myself am a huge fan of General Mills cereals and so are the kids! I was lucky enough to be sent 4 coupons for free General Mills cereals from them via My Blog Spark!

I managed to get 4 great items with my free coupons .My boys  Love the Cinnamon Toast Crunch but my daughter fell in love with the New Swirled Lucky Charms..she loves the rainbows and swirled heart shapes.
I did have an issue of not finding large enough boxes to take full advantage of the $6.00 value of each coupon..the most expensive I found was a little over $4.00 for the Cheerios, however that is not a bad thing, it just means you get a great value for your money! The Cheerios box was huge and  had over a pound and a half of cereal!

Thank you to My Blog Spark for providing the great coupons! You can get your own $1.00 off coupon by clicking on the title of this post which will take you to coupon print page!

The opinions are my own and my childrens with the health info taken from the site.I was not paid for this review only provided with the coupons to try the cereals.

My Movie Reviews-Funny People

This movie stars Adam Sandler,Seth Rogan and Leslie Mann and is 2 hours and 33 minutes long

When I fist heard of this movie via all the television previews, I assumed it would be hilarious based on the characters and my experience with them. While I am not a huge fan of any of them individually, together I was looking for loads of laughs.

The main character of the movie is of course Adam Sandler who plays a comedian (ironic huh).Early in the film Sandler discovers that he has a rare life threatening disease. In the meantime Rogan is working at a deli type restaurant aspiring to be a stand up comic himself, while sleeping on the pull-out couch at a friends apartment.

Sandler sees Rogan perform and approaches him about writing jokes for him to do a special event ,which leads to Rogan becoming Sandlers personal assistant.Sandler and Rogan develop a love/hate type of relationship and become "friends".

Sandler tells Rogan about Mann who is "The One That Got Away" and about his sickness. The relationship continues with the duo traveling and performing together until Rogan tells Sandler that he needs to tell someone else about his disease because he cannot handle being the only one who knows. Sandler begins to spend time with some of his aquaintances and even his sister whom he has virtually no relationship with.

During all this Sandler also gets in touch with Mann who tells him she still loves him and misses him etc.The 2 and sometimes the trio begin to spend time together and with Manns 2 daughters as well.

Rogan has his own issues, wanting a girl he will not try to get and who eventually sleeps with Rogans roommate. The 3rd roommate gets in the mix when he discovers that Sandler offered the joke writing job to both him and Rogan , a fact that Rogan kept to himself. This creates chaos between the 3 friends/roommates as well as with Rogan and his "Dream Girl" for sleeping with the roommate.

Sandler and Rogan go to visit Mann and are there when her husband returns home unexpected .The husband accepts them being ther based on knowing that Sandler is ill and assuming he is visiting with a friend. He does not know that his wife has just slept with Sandler, until one of the daughters informs him that Sandler is no longer sick-his treatments have worked and there is no sign of his illness anymore. This leads to a fight between Sandler and the husband and then between Sandler and Rogan .Mann then tells him that she chooses her husband and not Sandler who had plans to buy a home together and make a life for them and the children.

I think the name was a bad choice for this movie. To me a movie called Funny People should be funny and not serious.Their was some comedy in the movie but way less than I expected and not up to the usual standards of any of the characters.I myself would not have rented this movie for a laugh had I known the outcome. Not too bad for a romantic comedy or some other genre but to me not a comedy in and of itself.

My Movie Reviews-The Other Man

We are a movie watching couple,my husband and I  and we try to do it as often as we can.I myself am not big on wasting money to go to the movies for many reasons. Most of the time either the movie was not worth the cost, or fellow moviegoers find ways to ruin it by talking ,being loud or otherwise generally rude.I find it much better to wait a bit and rent the movie .Lately we have had a chance to watch quite a few and this is what I think of them.

The Other Man
This movie stars Liam Neeson Antonio Banderas and Laura Linney and is 88 minutes long

I was interested in seeing it based on the short preview on the back of the movie case.My husband actually found it and thought I might like it so we gave it a shot.

The movie starts off with the married couple-Neeson and Linney with a short glimpse into their married life. The next thing you know-literally seconds later it shows Neeson cleaning out his wifes things and offering some of them to his daughter.Right away I was confused..where did she go?Why are her things still there?Did she leave or what as the case says he is uncovering the truth of her dissapearance.

As the movie progresses it shows Neeson basically going crazy.First he hears a message on his wifes cell phone from another man.He begins trying to hack into his wifes laptop and eventually discovering files and pictures of her with a lover. The daughter gave him a piece of paper that the wife had instructed her to put away for him, containing the password to the locked files.

Next Neeson travels to the home of the lover-Banderas and makes contact with him.Banderas has no idea who Neeson is at the time and they begin to interact, talking and even playing chess.Banderas tells him of his great love which of course is Neesons wife.Neeson has the intent of killing Banderas apparently and I honestly thought he would.

During this time he is also contacting Banderas pretending to be Lisa the wife and makes dinner plans. At the dinner meeting Neeson reveals himself and then informs Banderas that his wife has died of cancer .At this point I was totally lost.Next you see bits of Neeson and the daughter taking care of the dying wife. They are all together when she dies.Banderas throws a party in memory of her which Neeson and the daughter attend.
I have to say that I hated this movie. Not only was The Other Man weird and confusing, but honestly who in their right mind would behave in such a way.If I found that my husband, deceased or not, had been having an affair for 12 years, I would not waste my time with any of it.

I still have not figured out where the dissapearance fit in if she was already dead and why did she leave him the password to get into the files instead of just leaving the memories they had? If I were you I would not waste my time or money on this movie and wish that I had not done so myself.
