We Are Part of the Ebates Back to School Backpack Event!!!!

This year I was fortunate enough to be a part of the Ebates Back to School Event. During this event, each of the bloggers involved was assigned to purchase $25 worth of backpacks and supplies to donate to kids in need. We were also welcome to add our own items for even more supplies if we liked.

 I wanted to include my children in this event so they could learn more about giving and help select the items we purchased. I wanted to show them how to compare prices between stores and brands to save money, and to challenge them to find the best deals on items we needed in the store.

My daughter came across a great deal on backpacks. We were able to find some cute designed and plain colored ones for only $3.97 each. Next we went for basic items all kids use to fill them with. We had selected the school my daughter attends for our donation, so we followed the posted supply lists to see what items they would have to have first.

We found great deals like Crayola crayons for only $.50 a box and packets of pencils for $.25 cents each. We grabbed glue sticks, erasers, 2 notebooks, loose paper, scissors and pencil boxes for each backpack too. This was everything on the posted list!

We were able to purchase three backpacks and enough items to fill each one with all the required items. We decided to get a girl themed backpack, a boy themed one and one that could be used for anybody. We tried to mix and match pencils, notebooks and accessories too so that everything went together.

We had a blast participating in this event. I will also be adding a Rapunzel tote bag with various pencils and things I found and a few special items like hand sanitizer and Kleenex will be going into our bags too. I want to say a special thanks to Ebates for sponsoring this amazing event. I am sure every child who receives these bags will be so thrilled to have supplies to start school!!
